Cactus Farm Status Update #3 (commands are out...)

The single player commands are out now, and it makes building the farm soooooo much easier. I'll post a picture or two tomorrow of the progress.

After doing another 10 minute run, I was able to collect 245 cacti with the upgrades to the farm.

Let me know if you have any ideas for a goal (how many cacti to farm in an hour or another timespan, etc), or other things I could build besides the Cactus Farm.

Cactus Farm Status Update #2 (just a lil' progress)

So here's the last edit I made to the cactus farm for today:

Nothing big, I just added the bottom level for the rest of the cacti. I'm pondering expanding the farm toward the back, so I could possibly double the output from it. Also, in the bottom right section of the photo you can see a stone structure, which is where the collection point is. Here's what it looks like:

I'll probably continue this tomorrow and show you how far I get at the end of the day.

Cactus Farm Status Update #1 (133 cacti in 10 mins!)

Here's the first picture I took of the cactus farm. As you can see, I've created a stone base to collect the cactus, and I've made three levels of the plants (going in 4x4 sections right now). In a span of roughly ten minutes, I counted 133 cactus blocks that I collected from the current state of the farm. My goal is to be able to get a couple thousand, or even more, depending on how this goes.

As I'm writing this, the Single Player Commands mod hasn't been updated yet, so once it is, I'll be able to better expand this, because right now I constantly have to manually create this block-by-block, and I have to make stacks of blocks to get up to the top, but I'll be able to use the fly command and get around much easier.

Hey guys,

I'll soon be posting on this blog about any and all creations I'm making in MineCraft (no matter what they may be).

The one I'm doing at the moment (just started today) is a multi-level cactus farm with a water flow system to catch all of the cacti at one collection point. I'll be posting random updates on this current one here and there, along with pictures, and possibly some video of me doing it (once it's finished).
